playswithworms: (nano 2009)
Happy Halloween to all!

Anyone wishing to carve pumpkins will first plz to be having their work inspected by the official Pumpkin Inspector.

The verdict for this year's Halloween trick-or-treat:  numbers greatly reduced.  Normally I have around 40-60 kids, but tonight I've barely seen 20.  Swine flu jitters?  The weather's certainly not to blame.  Oh dear, what shall I do with all of this leftover candy? *stuffs face* Mebbe it was my terrifying pumpkin (not nearly so pretty as Sunstreaker's):

I spent last night hiding in the tropical shrubbery of a greenhouse, behind a big sign that said "Venomous Snakes," holding an air compressor hose.  When the poor hapless visitors walked by I PSSSTT'ed them with the hose!  Undoing years of educational programming aimed at getting people over their fears of snakes in seconds, yep.  *cackles*

Random:  I am completely addicted to, of all things, LIME flavored Tootsie Rolls. O_o  They sound awful, but I can't stop eating them!  Heeelp meeee...

Yeek - Nano starts tomorrow!  I'm not ready!  It can't be done!  There's no way! What was I thinking?!  *flails*

Nano can be done!! YOU can do it!

I'm personally freaking out myself....how are we going to do it??

And those lime tootsie rolls are the death of me. Try the lemon one's or the blue berry those are delish too!

I can do it! I CAN! WE CAN! Yes! eep meep beep

I'd never heard of lime tootsie rolls before, but some came in a bag of mixed candy I got and mmmm. I've picked them all out! Lemon's pretty good too, but I don't have blueberry.

awww no blueberry I'll try to find some and send the to you. They're darn tasty.

I'm totally freaking out right now, its 8:07 I've less than four hours until I get cracking. I'm making due with cleaning...

Wahhhhhh *scared* This is going to be the most horrible thing ever!

mmmm, blueberries - I just had some cereal with dried blueberries, very yummy!

Don't be afraid! It's only words, they don't bite (much).

Your official pumpkin inspector is nice and official. I shall live in fear of him coming to inspect my pumpkins.

You've had 20 visitors? Wow 0.o I knwo what you mean. I've only had one. I mean, this place doesn't get a lot of traffic usually, but there's normally more than that. Also, also. Snake fears XD You horrile person you.

Yes! Nano! Bwahahahahahaha *coughs* I need to buddy you, I think.

Date: 2009-11-01 02:36 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
Beware the official pumpkin inspector. He don't mess around. Pumpkins that don't pass inspection will be shredded into teeny pumpkin shreddings of horrible orange mushy gooness! Or licked a little bit, whichever.

Yeah, seems to be a slow year all around, very puzzling.

Hee - I had FAR too much fun. It was all in the timing...pssst them right after they read the sign and whoosh! Up in the air with grand shriekings the people go! XD (though I did feel bad about psssting the little kid who was already crying. I was down in the shrubberies! I didn't see him! Scarred for life, poor thing, I'm sure >_>).

How does one buddy on the Nano site? Are you the same name over there?

Date: 2009-11-01 02:48 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] seikk.livejournal.com
Pumpkin mush! Truly a terrible punishment, yes.

Well, it's picked up a bit here. And then I got egged with one egg. Kind of a pathetic attempt but, hey, pranked!

Yay for psst-ing! (Though, yeah. Poor thing D: You didn't know!)

Same name. What about you? I could try friending you. I dont' do it very often so I'd have to play around a bit...

Date: 2009-11-01 02:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
Hey! LJ is pranking me I think - it told me it ate this comment, but then it posted! And I wrote a second one, so that's what's going on if you're confused.

Egged! I'm jealous ^^

Yep, I'm same name - I'll have to go play around as well.

Date: 2009-11-01 03:00 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] seikk.livejournal.com
*tsks at LJ* I was wondering XD

Heehee. It was only a little one. Kinda a pathetic attempt. Nothing to be jealous over!

There! Friended!

silly LJ ^^

Better eggs than the pranksters around here - they've been mailbox bashing. Got mine a few weeks back, and then yesterday they got the mailboxes on the other side of the street *frowny face*

Friended back! ^_^

Not only is he the pumpkin inspector, he's the skunk inspector, shower inspector, spider inspector, dishwashing inspector, toilet flushing inspector (running water apparently requires lots of inspecting), hair inspector...really, anything that can be inspected, WILL be inspected.

Very puzzling with the few visitors, and not just here, appears to be. Are you up to five yet?

Muahaha - I had FAR too much fun. The trick is in the timing...wait until just after they read the venomous snake sign and then PSSST! And they jump in the air with great shriekings! XD

Hmmmm, I've never buddied at the NaNo site - are you the same name there?

it's okay, darling. we've had all of 11 trick or treaters tonight and we usually average about forty. it just seems to be a really bad year for it, because the weather is awesome.

for a lime candy, the lime tootsie rolls are wonderful. your addiction is well placed.

good luck with NaNo. hope you make it. ^_^

Glad it's not just me that's slow this year - very puzzling though.

Normally lime is not one of my favorite flavors, but those tootsie rolls are really good!

Thanks! It'll be fun, no matter what ^_^

You don't want to know what I saw 'carved' about an hour or so ago XD...>>; Saddly, though, I didn't carve one this year.

lol at your second pumpkin and 'psst'ing' at ppl >:D

Date: 2009-11-01 03:06 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
Oh dear - I can't even imagine O_o I almost didn't get mine carved, had to make a last minute pumpkin run, but got 'em done in the nick of time ^^

Hee - it was so fun making people just absolutely shriek, XD

I feel kinda bad for not carving one, its turned a tradition ya know.

that comment probaly came out sounding wrong...my bad

I adore your pumpkin~!! I wanted one so badly this year, but the pumpkins are way expensive here, over 40 bucks for one about a foot high. They're usually not above 30, so 40 just pushed it over on the wrong side of affordable for me... I miss halloween so much, with all the fun and awful candy, lol! LIME tootsie rolls..? My mind boggles...

Date: 2009-11-02 03:02 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
40 bucks for a pumpkin!? O_O Is that in US dollars? Yipes! I got mine for $2 because I waited until the last minute. I could probably mail one to you for about $40, lol, a small one anyway. When I came home tonight a squirrel had eaten the teeth off my pumpkin and run off with the little pumpkin inside - I found it in the middle of the yard, complete with little chew marks. Silly squirrels!

Lime. Yep, I'm boggled myself. I don't even LIKE lime.

Here, have some leftover Halloween fun-and-candy *flings* ^_^

/slams into this post flailing

I want your pumpkin inspector and I also wonder about the kid traffic to get the candy. We barely had any that me and my brother finally started just running down the street to find kids and give them candy just to get rid of it all. Which probably will be the talk of the schools tomorrow about two random people running up and down the streets and dumping candy into bags.

I think the strawberry tootsie rolls they sell around here at Halloween are to die for myself, but then I'm a strawberry addict in terms of artificial flavoring.

I want to team up with you and make like a petting zoo gone horribly wrong themed haunted house. We could have so much fun with it.

And now I'm going back to staring at my word documents for NaNo and freak out. I should buddy you on there as well.

Date: 2009-11-02 03:06 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
Ha - that's a good idea, dumping the candy into bags! I have no self control around these bags of candy. I either need to give them away soon or become a Very Round Person.

The strawberry ones are quite good too - there were a few in the variety pack I had. But the lime! *drools*

Ooooh! Haunted pettting zoo! What an awesome idea! Where the goats get a little carried away and start chewing off peoples' arms...Muahahahahaha

I kin use all the buddies I kin git! :D

Date: 2009-11-02 03:13 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
Just tried to add you back as a buddy but it won't go through - I have a feeling the site's really busy, so I'll try again tomorrow!

Date: 2010-01-13 01:31 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] tv-the-sue.livejournal.com
Oh god, I would screams like hell, and then stop and peek in cautiously, possibly with a flashlight to see what snake it was, because there would be a cage, right?

Date: 2010-01-13 02:29 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] playswithworms.livejournal.com
You would think so, I mean surely no one would be so irresponsible as to leave venomous snakes out crawling freely around a greenhouse? O_O Or maybe they were in a cage, but someone forgot to secure the lid and it's been pushed open just enough for the snakes to get out..*pssst PSSSSSSST pssSSSSSSSSSST!!!*

Date: 2010-01-13 04:17 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] tv-the-sue.livejournal.com
Still, the average snake would tend to avoid humans, so shining a light would be the safe thing to do, yes?
